Join us Sunday for a walk on the High Line

New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut family!

Join us this Sunday, September 22 at 8:30am for a special walk on the High Line in partnership with our friends at Emerson Collective who are hosting the Climate Science Fair this weekend.

We will gather in front of the Chelsea-Elliott Houses at 427 West 26th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. This location is significant to the community's history, representing resilience and the stories of Black and Brown residents. Notable figures such as the Wayans Family and Whoopi Goldberg have roots in this area, highlighting its cultural impact.

On our route, we will explore the Chelsea neighborhood, focusing on Wards 2 and 4, which have been central to community activism and social justice efforts, particularly for Black women who have played pivotal roles in local leadership. We will enter the High Line at the 23rd Street entrance and walk north, concluding at the Climate Science Fair near the northern end of the High Line at West 14th Street where we encourage you to stay and engage with various exhibits and discussions focused on climate action and justice. RSVP here.

Our mission to create a world where Black women are healthy and safe includes doing our part to end the climate crisis which disproportionately impacts Black and Brown communities. Join us for this walk on the High Line, a New York City green space that has been a symbol of what is possible with urban renewal.

Hope to see you there!
