Back by Popular Demand! Save Our Number

Dear GirlTREK Family,

We’re back like we never left. By popular demand, the Walk and Talks that shaped us, healed us, and brought us closer are returning with a whole new vibe tomorrow at 9AM ET.

We’re calling it The Liberation Line because the conversations that we have been having together have been the catalyst for so many women’s awakening and for some much change on the ground.

So, save our number in your phone, rally your crew in the group chat, and reminisce about the days when connecting meant calling up our girls.

Feel the nostalgia? Think of all those classic Black anthems about picking up the phone. From "Call Me" by Tweet to "You Don’t Have to Call" by Usher, "I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder, to "Mr. Telephone Man" by New Edition, we’ve always known how to stay connected. Now, just like the golden days of party lines and three-way calls, we’re about to be in each other’s ears again on Saturdays.

But this time, it’s urgent. The world needs us. Black women are hungry for strategies, solutions, and spaces to share, celebrate, and uplift. That’s why we’re uniting on The Liberation Line, a lifeline for Black women everywhere. Here, we strategize, mobilize, and build solidarity with the most dynamic Black women across the globe who are doing extraordinary work.

Tomorrow, we kick off these new calls in Minneapolis at George Floyd Square. We stand in solidarity with the incredible moms of professional basketball players who have organized a walk there and invited us to participate. These are women who have nurtured and raised some of the most talented athletes in the world. But their platform is about so much more than sports contracts; it’s about the little girls and boys who need mothering, mentorship, and love. If you're in the Twin Cities area, please join us. RSVP here.

And this is just the beginning. These Friday emails will evolve into a platform where we stand with organizations and movement builders working tirelessly to heal our communities. On Saturdays, we’ll be on the line, walking and talking together. Think of it as the altar call in church. The line is open. Come testify, speak your truth, and unite in this sacred space.

S is for Saturdays, Sisterhood, and Solidarity. Now more than ever, we need it all.

The number's the same. Dial: 1 (646) 876-9923 Code: 734464325 (+16468769923,,734464325#). A couple weeks ago we announced a new number for our Saturday calls but that number would only allow us to get 1,000 of you on the line and that wasn't going to work for our growing movement.

So, save our number. You can click this link or scan this QR code to create a new contact in your phone so it's easy to find. (Here are the steps: 1) Click Save once you click on the link; 2) Scroll to bottom of the popup; 3) Select Create New Contact; 4) Click Done.)

We’ll see you on the line.

Vanessa (and Morgan)

P.S. We’ve curated a playlist of our favorite songs about staying connected. Let us know if we missed any of your faves! And yes, we’ve got Prince’s "How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore" at the top of our list, so get ready to groove.

P.P.S. We've got new merch in the store! Our newest design features the "G" in GirlTREK and represents the power of one million women united. Pre-order today for shipment in late September.
