Welcome to Self-Care for Freedom Fighters, Powered by GirlTREK!
You are not merely a participant in a challenge you are the architect of your liberation on the brink of a significant transformation and we are so excited to walk this path with you.
Week 0 of this 10-week experience is dedicated to preparing ourselves for the journey. It’s the foundation. It’s time to set intentions, clear out digital clutter and get clear about what we are walking away from and what we are walking towards.
As we move forward, each week will unfold new themes, habits, and practices designed to help you #GetFree
Self-Care Mission: Immediate Digital Detox
Disconnect to Reconnect. This is your inaugural step towards freedom. Our revolution starts with a decisive one-week disconnect from the digital world to confront and reclaim our lives from the pervasive trauma, comparison, and noise cluttering our online spaces.
Why? In an era where social media often becomes a battleground, Black women bear the brunt of the impact, facing a deluge of images and narratives that perpetuate violence, discrimination, and misinformation against us. This detox is not just about turning off notifications, it’s about actively choosing where we place our energy.
Self-Care Strategy
Initiate a Digital Detox: Commence a week-long digital detox within 24 hours. See this for how to turn off social media for iPhone and Android.
Engage in Daily Reflection: Over the next week, complete 5 daily walks using them as a time to reflect deeply on the following essential questions that pave the way to the life you envision.
Five questions to help you #GetFree
What are the things I am most grateful for, and how do I express this gratitude?
What are the barriers to my happiness, and how can I remove them?
What divine possibilities do I see for my life this year?
What boundaries do I need to set or reinforce to protect my energy and honor my needs?
What does self-love look like in action for me, and how can I be more intentional about practicing it?
By the end of this week, you’ll have a clearer understanding of your answers to these pivotal questions, equipping you with the insight to start crafting the life of your dreams.
Did you know? Research by the Cleveland Clinic shows that a digital detox can help improve sleep, relationships, and mood.
Hydration Kickstart. Are you anxious or are you dehydrated? This week we drink at least 64 ounces of water each day to support our overall plan.
