Tonight is not just a meeting. It is a declaration of the future we are building together—rooted in the demands of our foremothers who marched, prayed, and strategized for our liberation. What you will learn tonight will be a blueprint to increase Black women’s life expectancy by 10 years in the next 10 years.
…on this day, 12 years ago, hundreds of you gathered on The National Mall with protest signs to insist that the world remember one of the greatest freedom fighters who ever lived.
…on this day, 3 years ago, thousands of you joined as we returned to The Ashanti Kingdom of West Africa, the ancestral land of Harriet. We were welcomed by drums and girls dancing on the beach at sunrise.
…and just 2 years ago, on this very day, many of you traveled by plane, train and automobile to Auburn, New York to place yellow roses at the gravesite of Harriet Tubman.
Our history matters. They will not erase us.
Mother Johnson, at 90+ years-old, has the fortitude of her foremother.
She said, “I’m going to walk. I can do 30 minutes,”
Walk with her.
With love,
The National Team
